Obituary of Donald Lee Alexander

Donald, 47, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at his home in Lacey, Washington. Born on August 1, 1965 to Warren and Shirley Alexander in Columbus, Indiana, he graduated from High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Excelsior. Originally from North Vernon, Indiana he joined the Army in 1985 and served until his retirement in 2008 at the rank of SGM. He had been stationed in Germany, Korea, North Carolina, Kansas and Washington. He was deployed to Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. At the time of Donald’s passing he was working for the Department of the Army, Ft. Lewis. Donald enjoyed playing golf, was a marathon runner and an avid Indianapolis Colts Fan. He will be missed by his surviving family, Sons Todd Alexander, Indianapolis, IN, Zach Alexander, North Vernon, IN, Anthony Alexander Olympia, WA, daughter Erika Alexander also of Olympia. Brothers Warren Alexander, Jr., North Vernon, IN, Andrew Alexander, Huntingtown, MD, and his sister Susie Burns of Montreat, N.C., and 1 grandchild. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 12:00 pm in the Sawyer Pickett Funeral Home 115 South state Street North Vernon, IN 47265.
